How to take care of my earrings | Pink Lime Mango

Polymer clay and resin earrings are unique and beautiful pieces that can add a touch of personality to any outfit. However, because they are made of clay and resin, they require a bit of particular care to keep them looking their best. In this blog post, I will run through some basic care instructions to help you keep your polymer clay and resin earrings looking great for years to come.

Basic Care Instructions

To start, let me go over some basic care instructions that will help prolong the life of your earrings. First, it is important to store your earrings in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. This will help prevent the clay and resin from getting damaged by UV rays.

Next, handle your earrings with care. Please do not bend or drop the pieces as they can be fragile. When you are not wearing them, store them in a padded jewellery box or on a soft surface to prevent them from getting scratched or broken. Finally, please keep them dry—remove them before showering, sleeping, or swimming. Avoid contact with perfume, makeup, sunscreens, and lotions as these can all damage the clay and resin surface.

Cleaning Your Earrings

Polymer clay and resin earrings can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Simply wipe down the surface of the earrings to remove any dirt or build-up. Do not use any harsh chemicals or cleaners on your earrings as this will damage the surface. Pat your earrings dry with a soft cloth after cleaning. Sterling silver can be cleaned with a silver polishing cloth.
